Identification of the original line of the quay heading by the use of old photographs and some digging! Installion of new wooden piling and backfill with soil to level the site.

The restoration of this waterway involves historical research to identify 'lost' structures. Old photographs of the former Wherry Public House show a quay heading alongside the pub's garden. This has rotted away as the canal is de-watered on this section and needs to be replaced before water is returned to this section to protect the bank from erosion.
