Last year I started volunteering as a marketing & admin volunteer for Student Volunteering Cardiff's sister organisation Park View Cafe in Canton. Less than a year later they honoured me with the Volunteer of the Year award. Sadly, I had to part from them a few months ago. I just wanted to say how I admire all the people I met during that volunteering experience. They are the biggest givers I have ever known. Now I want to give something back, to the vulnerable people who they work with every day, through SVC. This is my first time to run a half marathon and to run for a charity, just saying. So please help me help them. Thanks a lot!
And in the light of recent events, I want to dedicate my training and first ever Half Marathon experience to the memory of my dad who unexpectedly passed away three days before my birthday this July. If this training pain is only half of what he went through in the last weeks of his life, I have achieved something.
