As you will know, I have spent the first 43 years of my life living the life of a natural athlete……………….
After a rather hasty conversation in September 2015 with Mrs Cape, the time has now come to take part in my first, and last, 10k run. On the 18th September 2016, I will attempt the Run Reigate 10k run.
To help keep my eyes on the finish line, I am asking for your generous support.
To mark this momentous occasion, I would like to raise some well needed funds for a charity that my wife Sarah, has been involved with for the last couple of years.
Stripey Stork collect new and pre-loved items for babies and children and then distribute them to families in need in East Surrey.
Based in Redhill Stripey Stork was established in August in 2013 and started distributing items from October 2013. They are a volunteer-run group started by a group of local Mums who wanted to see the items their children no longer needed re-used in the local community.
They collect donations of baby equipment, clothes, toys and other baby essentials and check that they meet current UK safety standards.
They receive requests from local professionals (health visitors, social workers, children’s centres etc) on behalf of families in need in the Reigate & Banstead Borough. They then try and meet the request from the items they have in stock or by putting a call out to their supporters via our Facebook and Twitter.
Stripey Stork prides itself on passing on items in great condition. They want the families who receive items from Stripey Stork to feel they are receiving a gift and not a handout.
So please....dig deep, friends and family, as I need your support to help me make the distance...i haven't made it past 6k yet so help is needed with less than 2 weeks to go!
