Jean is an amazing lady, she is vision and hearing impaired and like many others her mobility reduced over lockdown, with not going out. She took inspiration herself from Captain Tom Moore and decided to start walking round the houses where she lives, increasing the amount of time and distance week by week.
It has been a big struggle for her, but she has managed to get up to a 45 minute continuous walk, her aim is to be able to manage an hours walk. As much as Jean wants to inspire others, she also wants to keep her mobility, as she already struggles with her other disabilities, putting restrictions on her independence.
We are asking for your support to help spur Jean along, to reach her 'hour' target, she has said she would like to raise money for Disability Peterborough, to provide a Personal Therapist to work with someone else in her position who was not able to rebuild their mobility by themselves.
Please donate what you can to support this inspirational lady to achieve both dreams of helping herself and others. Thank you.
One Jean gets to both her targets, Disability Peterborough's fundraiser, Sam, has agreed to walk the hour with her and they will both be dressed as superhero's!
