For many years I have been associated in one way or another with Kingston Bereavement Service. We all experience grief at some time in our lives and KBS are there to help those who find the struggle too difficult to negotiate alone. KBS has extended their services to children and young adults as the loss of a loved one can happen at any age or stage in our lives.
Having spent most of my life anxious around water I decided it was time to address this fear so I took up skiffing (rowing) about three years ago. At 65 it was also time to improve my fitness. The Great River Race was the ideal opportunity to address these two challenges! It is an annual event on the river Thames beginning in Millwall and finishing in Ham. The river is tidal along this stretch which creates an extra challenge for me as the waters are very choppy!
I hope you will all feel able to support me by raising funds for Kingston Bereavement Service. I know you will all support me with words of encouragement.
