Jeevan Project

This is an important opportunity to work and support more care leavers, figures show that Young Women miss at least one day a month of education, employment or training due to their cycle, and lack of access to sanitary products, increases the risk of unsafe and unhygienic alternative methods (Action Aid, 2021).

With the help of a recent start up fund we have developed a project that will provide boxes/bags of sanitary ware (towels/tampons) and up to 2/3 goodies to support female care leavers in Northamptonshire. The project has been planned with a local Care Leaver.

The boxes will be distributed on request directly from the Young Women, Children’s Homes, Schools, Youth Professionals and Social Care Staff.

This project was shared across the BBC, via written news article and video coverage, as well as Northampton Chronicle.
