Team Fundraisers
So here goes....on the 2nd August with only 14 weeks to go I decided to sign up for a 100km Sahara Trek (in 5 days) to fundraise for my charity Nugent. I joined the Charity in January 2023. Professionally, Nugent has given me a new sense of purpose and direction and are an amazing registered charity who care for vulnerable children, young people and adults through its care homes, schools and social work services.
We would like to create packages for families fleeing domestic abuse - this would enable more families to safely leave a home where violence, or the threat of violence, is present. Often their money is controlled so the ability to move to a safe and furnished property may be a barrier for some individuals or families. We want to create this to give families a safe space which includes accommodation and support which helps them every step of the way.
Personally, in October 2021 a terminal illness of a close family member has rocked mine and my families world which has made me want to become my most healthiest self and take life by the horns! We are still on that journey together 💪💛 and since then, I have lost 2 and a half stone and aim to by the time the Sahara Trek comes around in November to be at 'target weight' and the fittest I can possibly be! 💪2 years ago I would never have imagined being in an place where this was remotely possible🙏physically, mentally or emotionally!💛
I can't take away all the pain and suffering experienced by families in life, but I can through Nugent make families who need crucial help and support lives improve x
