This year I have decided to participate in the Bath Half. In order to ensure that I make it the entire way round, I have decided to run for an amazing charity, Voices. They are a Bath-based charity which aims to challenge and tackle domestic abuse. The charity provides peer support and recovery programmes specifically for women who are experiencing or have experienced Domestic Abuse.
After watching some of the race last year, I was inspired to attempt it myself and have thus set about training with varying degrees of enthusiasm, and success. Not being a natural runner, it is definitely proving to be a challenge but I am lucky to have some fantastic company to see me through running in invariably cold/dark/wet conditions.
Having been a member of The Bath WI for a number of years now, it seems fitting to support a charity that focuses on helping local women and I am hoping that, with your support, I can make a big difference.
So, although a 90-minute finish time may be marginally out of reach, I will continue to drag myself out on training runs and if I can cross the line in one piece, having raised money for a fantastic charity, I will consider it a job well done!
Thankyou for your support.
