So I've made a grave, grave mistake and committed to running the Brighton Half Marathon. This is a complete disaster on all fronts, I have no idea what I'm doing. Alas, stubbornness shall prevail and this Sunday 26th February, I will speed waddle through 13.1 miles of racecourse. Any support in the form of donations will be hugely appreciated as I am running the Half Marathon for a local charity called the Clock Tower Sanctuary, who support homeless people of ages 16-25. Homelessness in Brighton & Hove has more than doubled since 2011 and the City now has the third largest homeless population in the UK. Organisations such as this one provide much needed support and relief from every day life on the streets, with organised workshops, a daily drop in centre amongst many other things; little donations can go a long way for The Clock Tower Sanctuary. Every young person deserves a safe space, access to food, laundry and simply to be part of a community, this charity can provide all of the above. Donations will be open for a month from the 21st, so any spare pennies you have between now and then... send em this way! This really is an incredibly important cause, and with the current economic climate, the outlook for homelessness isn't looking great. Any donation you can make can improve the quality of life for people, my age and younger, in situations far less fortunate than our own. Please and thanks! Lots of love x
