I’m Jessie, and I’m thrilled to be taking on my first marathon on 20th October in the beautiful city of York! This 26.2-mile challenge is more than just a personal achievement—it's an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need it most.
I’m running for respite, raising funds for The Principle Trust Children's Charity, a cause I’m incredibly proud to support. As a supporter of this amazing Yorkshire-based charity, I’m dedicated to helping them continue their vital work providing free week-long respite breaks to children who are disadvantaged, underprivileged, or disabled. These breaks offer families facing extreme challenges—whether due to poverty, trauma, or disabilities—a chance to escape their struggles, strengthen family bonds, and create joyful, lasting memories.
Child poverty in Yorkshire is at its highest level in over 20 years, with around 400,000 children—31% of the region’s kids—living in poverty. The Principle Trust works tirelessly to ensure that these children have the opportunity to experience a fair, inclusive, and happy life. With six holiday homes, they provide around 232 families each year with these essential breaks, and they’re aiming to expand further in 2024 with a new holiday home on the East Coast.
Your support would mean the world to me and to the children we’re helping. The Principle Trust operates a 100% donation policy, so every penny you donate goes directly to helping Yorkshire’s most vulnerable children. Please consider sponsoring me on this journey and helping us create memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
Best wishes,
Jessie
