In November, I will be embarking on an incredible 100km challenge through the awe-inspiring Sahara Desert!
Departing on the 12th of November 2023, this seven-day adventure will take me on a journey through stunning desert landscapes during the day and allow me to camp under the mesmerizing starlit sky at night. This trek will truly test my physical and mental strength.
My journey towards this trek will begin long before the actual expedition, involving rigorous training, hard work, preparation, and unwavering determination.
Highlights of the trek:
The funds will be used to create a sensory garden for the young people in our care. The envisioned garden area will serve as a tranquil and secure space for the residents to spend time alone or with staff, and even during their family sessions. It will offer them a sense of ownership and responsibility by involving them in maintaining the area. The space will be designed to meet their sensory needs and provide them with a comforting environment.

- Experience the varied terrain and the wildlife of the Sahara Desert;
- Trek over plateaus and sand dunes and through valleys, gorges, and stunning oases
- Trek between 12-30km per day, a total of 100km;
- Fully supported trek with camels and desert guides and cooks;
- Experience the extremes of the desert’s day and night temperatures;
- Sleep under canvas, after an evening looking at the clear African skies around the campfire;
- Enjoy the final night celebration (and a hot shower!) to salute the group’s impressive achievement.
