Hi All
One of the Dad's (John Massam) from our WISH Group has registered for the St. Helens 10k and is running to raise vital funds for our group.
Here lies the twist...John is actually deployed overseas and currently working in Afghanistan. He won't be home on the run date so he has been in contact with the event organisers and been authorised to partake and do the 10k in afghan, he will run on the actual date of the 10k (Sunday 9th March 2014)
John will keep us up to date on how his training is going as well as sending photos for us all to see. For the race itself he will record the distance and time as well as providing photos and videos.
John has chosen to support WISH as the group gives support to not only his daughter Tayla but also to his wife Vicky and son Connor, something he is truly grateful for as he deployed for long periods of time and Type 1 diabetes needs a lot of maintenance.
I'm sure we all wish John a safe and steady training programme and look forward to supporting him on Sunday 9th March.
