On Sunday 6 September I’m taking part in the Belovoir Blast 100 to raise money for Councillor Meredith Lawrence’s chosen Mayor’s Charity for 2015/16, We R Here.
The charity is based in Gedling and is a service dedicated to supporting people of all ages who have experienced traumatic life events such as grief, loss and domestic abuse. We R Here offers various services to those in need, from counselling to family group activities. You can find out more about them at http://werhere.org.uk/
The Belvoir Blast 100 is a challenging 100 mile cycle ride around the Vale of Belvoir involving over 5000 feet of climbing. The ride starts at 8am and I’m estimating it will take around six hours to complete - meaning I’ll have to take advantage of the ‘Piece of Cake’ feed-stations to refuel en route! http://2wheelsandapieceofcake.co.uk/events/belvoir-blast/
