Jonathan's Edinburgh Half Marathon challenge
On Sunday 26th May I am taking part in the Edinburgh Half Marathon and hope to raise lots of money in support of the Northamptonshire Music & Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT).
Like many other people, the Northamptonshire Music & Performing Arts Trust has had a huge and long lasting impact on my life. From an early age I was given the chance to learn an instrument and to develop an understanding and appreciation of music in its many forms.
I started out going to a Saturday music centre before progressing to become a member of the wonderful county orchestras, concert bands, choirs and chamber groups. I am so grateful for the opportunities I had to play and perform at the highest level, in some of the most prestigious music festivals and venues in the UK and abroad - memories I will never forget. I also made some good friends along the way and learnt how to get along and work with other people - vital life skills!
It is only due to the tireless efforts of the NMPAT staff, who provide outstanding instrumental and vocal teaching, group playing and performance opportunities, that any of this is possible.
In this, their 50th Anniversary year, I felt that I wanted to give something back and to say THANK YOU for the amazing work that they have done and continue to do.
As an independent charitable trust, NMPAT is entirely reliant on donor support, so please give what you can. All donations received will help to ensure that future generations of young people in Northamptonshire continue to be inspired, nurtured and excel.
