Home-Start North Dorset in recognition and celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee is appealing for 'Diamond' donors to help maintain its work supporting families living in North Dorset in times of need. We are asking 'Diamond' donors to donate £5.00 a month for 12 months or, if you prefer, a one-off donation of £60.00.

To offer support, friendship and practical assistance by visiting families in their own homes, where the dignity and identity of each individual can be respected and protected. To reassure parents that difficulties in bringing up children are not unusual and encouraging enjoyment in family life. To develop a relationship with the family in which time can be shared and understanding can be developed; the approach is flexible to take account of different needs.

To encourage the parents' strengths and emotional well-being for the ultimate benefit of their own children. To encourage families to widen their network of relationships and to use effectively the support and services available within the community.
