On 10th November I will be swapping my nice dry comfortable bed for a night of sleeping out in the cold and/or rain raising awareness of and funds for homelessness in Cornwall.
Homelessness is on the rise. Cornwall is the 5th highest area in the country for rough sleepers. It is a situation that could affect any one of us. Relationship breakdowns and job losses are common reasons why people become homeless.
The Eden Project is again hosting the Sleepout as part of the national End Youth Homeless campaign.
I am supporting St Petroc’s Society, a charity for whom I’m proud to say I’ve worked for over three years. St Petroc’s provides accommodation, support, help and advice to the single homeless all over the county for whom no other provision is available in the county. Each year the number of people needing help increases so please help me raise funds to help those who spend every night sleeping in the cold and rain, not just one night.
Thank you.
