I am running The Great North Run 2024 to fundraise for Type 1 Kidz, a charity that supports children and young people living with Type 1 Diabetes and provides regular group sessions for them to come together, get support, learn from one another and try new things in a safe environment.
Over the past three years, Type 1 Kidz have worked with 200 children & young people with T1 Diabetes and an additional 400 family and community members.
The groups are informal and they take part in lots of activities including mental health & wellbeing, sport, university and more ... diabetes can really affect every part of your life. They also give children and young people new opportunities such as going on trips and residentials.
