I love swimming especially on a hot sunny beach but on September 20th I will plunge into the Serpentine with a team of friends from the kitchen crew at West London Welcome as part of the Swim Serpentine Charity raising day. I am raising funds for West London Welcome because as a weekly volunteer I have seen first hand the positive impact the centre makes to its members. It is a wonderful community centre that provides essential support for refugees and asylum seekers in West London and provides a safe space for people, many of whom have survived the most harrowing trauma, to come together and feel valued and welcomed.
