My name is Katie Vale and I am a milliner. I would like to help raise money & awareness for Cianna's Smile. I will be offering this purple fascinator as a prize for one lucky person. For every £1 donation I will be adding your name into a prize draw; and on the 1st February I will be drawing one name who will be the new owner of this fascinator. I will make the announcement of the winner on my Twitter & Facebook page, so please follow to see if you've won!

Cianna's Smile aims to offer support to children and parents in the Thames Valley area who are affected by Sickle Cell Anaemia.
Sickle Cell Anaemia is a genetic blood disorder that causes abnormal red blood cells. These red blood cells are sickle shaped and cause blockages in blood vessels preventing oxygen from travelling around the body, known as a sickle cell crisis. There are approximately 13,500 people in the UK with Sickle Cell Anaemia and as many as 250,000 carriers with the abnormal gene, making Sickle Cell Anaemia one of the most common genetic disorders in the UK. There are endless complications with Sickle Cell such as high risk of stroke, organ failure, acute chest syndrome, blindness and without the correct treatment it can be fatal.
Cianna's Smile regularly organises awareness events, bringing together families and enabling the children to have fun.
We are mainly funded through donations to the charity but have recently had an application accepted for a small grant. The money donated to the charity goes towards days out for families affected by sickle cell, a variety of community awareness events, presentations to local health care professionals and the general running costs such as literature, education packs, equipment for presentations etc.
