It is our intention to further enhance our outdoor programme by equipping ourselves with a small fleet of 10 kayaks and safety equipment for use by our Cubs, Scouts and Explorers by the spring of 2014. Planning discussions are well advanced, qualified tutors are on standby, and we have already secured a little funding to make a modest start. However, we still need a firm financial push to reach the significant monetary total needed for the project to reach it's full potential.
Why they need our service3rd Ringwood Scout Group is always keen to expand the range of activities that we provide for our members, and to develop our ever broadening appeal to other young people of our community. We believe that taking part in well managed group based activities will benefit us all by developing the physical, intellectual and social potentials of our members, and helping them become involved as responsible citizens in their local, national and international communities.
Plan and expected resultsWater sport will open a whole new dimension for our outdoor activities and will prove more inclusive for those members/prospective members who, in the pursuit of advancing their Scouting Award work, might find more traditional outdoor Scout pursuits like overland expeditions and hikes difficult or restrictive. Living near to the south coast and surrounded by suitable locations for waterborne activities, we look forward to including many exciting new ventures and expeditions into our programme.
