Update, Sunday 4th June 2017: Thank you, everyone who's sponsored me so far. Four weeks to go and I'm down to 63.6kg. 3.6kg to go!
A couple of years ago, I braved the world's longest zipwire in Bethesda, North Wales, to raise money for TCC (www.tcc-wales.org.uk), a charity for which I'm Chair of Trustees (more later). If you sponsored me, thank you. The zipwire was great! Contrary to expectations, I thoroughly enjoyed myself!
However, I didn't enjoy seeing photos of myself in the red flying suit I had to wear! I more than resembled a plump red sausage... Consequently, I am now trying to lose weight! According to the NHS website, I should weigh between 48.9 kilos and 66.3 kilos. On 1st January 2017, I weighed 77.8 kilos...
I'm now down to 68.8 kilos (thank you for asking!) but anyone who's ever been on a diet will know how hard it is to get rid of those stubborn, lingering pounds. So I'm now asking for your help and encouragement, please, in the form of sponsorship for TCC - kilos for pounds, or kgs for £££, if you like. I want to try to get down to 60 kilos (or less!) by TCC Week, our big fundraising push at the end of June, with the final weigh-in at the Fundraising Fair at St John's Church, Rhosesni, Wrexham, on Saturday 1st July. Please come if you can!
TCC - Trefnu Cymunedol Cymru/Together Creating Communities - is a broadbased community organising charity active in North East Wales. For over twenty years, it has been enabling local groups such as faith groups, schools and others to bring about change and make a real difference in their own communities, and often further afield. Such is TCC's work and effectiveness that we were recognised at the end of last year by the Guardian newspaper and received a Guardian Charity Award 2016 (https://www.theguardian.com/society/series/charity-awards-2016) But it all takes money, as well as lots and lots of dedication, just like losing weight! So if you can support me and TCC, that would be great! Thank you.
