Hello!
On the Saturday 20th May we will be undertaking the charity challenge of a life time - a Sky Dive!
We will be boarding an aircraft soaring to around 13,000 feet before taking the jump and descending 5,000 feet at about 120 miles per hour towards the ground! We will be overcoming a fear of heights and a desire for an adrenaline-fuelled activity, all in the aid for the charity Blue Smile.
Please help us reach our target of £1,000.00. Any donation is greatly appreciated!
Blue Smile
Blue Smile is a new Cambridgeshire children’s charity that provides counselling and therapy for pupils in schools between the ages of 3 and 13 during a critical window of opportunity for change.
There is a growing mental health problem among children and young people and this kind of targeted early intervention can help prevent later mental illness and associated anti-social and offending behaviours. Without it, a vulnerable and disadvantaged child can grow up to become a distressed and dangerous person in our local community. The repercussions of inadequate support are enormous: school failure, anti-social behaviour, mental illness and a legacy of dysfunction, all of which puts huge pressure on schools, social services and the youth justice system.
Blue Smile provides the kind of specialist support in schools which gives a vulnerable child the expert and consistent care they need working with highly trained paid and voluntary professionals. This is both a highly skilled and cost-effective intervention.
Most importantly, these children deserve such professional care and support so they are helped to fulfil their true potential and to turn their lives around.
We are very proud to be completing this challenge for such an inspiring charity and hope that you will support us.
