Team Fundraisers
Having been a resident of Kingston for 20 years, I thought it was time I gave a little something back!
Love-Kingston is a fund of the London Community Foundation, working in partnership with Kingston Voluntary Action. The organisation was launched on 4 October 2012, initially funded by the Office for Civil Society and who have a
vision of a strong and generous community – where residents, businesses, community groups and government act collectively to create a fair and good society for all who live or work in the borough.
I met some of the team a few months ago, including the legendary Tessa (I blame her for persuading me to do this) and was inspired to see what I could do to help.
She convinced me that a big impact could be made by inspiring local charitable causes to achieve extraordinary things, offering lifelines to local residents with very limited resources. Their future depends on securing small but vital amounts of funding to reach people in need.
So this is part of my effort to support those in my local community that support others that are in need.
Please support me as I don the obligatory MAMIL gear and pedal round London.
Oh and one more thing. Also, make a date in your diary for the 22nd June as the local government are matching all the money raised on that date so anything you donate effectively gets doubled!
