5 years ago I lost a friend to Testicular Cancer (TC), this friend was Mark Gorry, he was only 24 years old. 24 is no age to lose your life. TC is one of the most curable forms of Cancer if detected early enough. Unfortunately for Mark, this was not the case and it was discovered too late. Before Mark passed away he set up the Mark Gorry Foundation, aka MGF. His aim was to raise money for Clatterbridge Hospital, this is where Mark spent a lot of time in 2009 having his treatment and other cancer. He also wanted to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer and try to prevent other families and friends losing a loved one. In February 2015, I'll be taking up the challenge to Trek across the 3 Peaks of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. This will be a huge challenge for myself, mainly due to the fact Ive only ever done a few small treks in my life - this is where the training will come in handy! Over the years I have helped to raise awareness for MGF by getting myself in all sorts of situations, ranging from checking/exposing my testicles on live TV to millions of people, parading in front of hundreds of thousands of people as part of the annual Pride Parades in Liverpool & Manchester to stuffing my face with as many pies as possible in a few minutes. One thing I have not done as yet, is to ask for sponsorship. This time is different. To help fund this trek and further more raise awareness for the horror that is Testicular Cancer, Im looking for your help. Please, if you can donate as little or as much as you have, every penny count - I need to achieve a total of £1500, I know this can happen. Please contact me for more details, Id love to have a chat!
