Team Fundraisers

MindOut is very grateful to the team of runners competing in the Brighton Half Marathon and Brighton Marathon! We hope you will support them all the way while they train and prepare for these challenges. From Tuesday 13th October, any donations or standing orders of up to £10 will be doubled by Local Giving. Only donations of up to £10 will be doubled, but you can donate up to five times. Standing orders of £10 will be doubled for the first 3 months and you can cancel it anytime.

Why they need our service

LGBTQ people are more likely to have experience of mental health issues, suicidal thoughts and self harm than heterosexual people. Many LGBTQ people encounter prejudice, stigma and discrimination which compound the mental health issues they face. We provide advice, information, advocacy, casework and peer group support, working with many LGBTQ people who are socially isolated, not getting the support they need or wanting to meet others in a safe, supportive service.

Plan and expected results

People who use our services feel more empowered about their mental health needs, more connected to their communities, and gain improved mental wellbeing and resilience. The wider community is better informed, less prejudiced and more engaged with mental health matters as a result of our community work and campaigns. People gain and offer support to each other, learn better self management and reduce their use of other services. People are helped to gain and keep employment.
