Team Fundraisers

On the 21st October 2012, Chris Hill of Versatile Burnham, will be cutting Ryan Wards hair to raise money for disadvantaged children in Slough. We would like you to sponsor Ryan in the form of a donation on our just giving page. All donations of £10 between now and November will be matched by just giving. The event will kick of at 11am and spectators are welcome. All at The Beehive Foundation would like to thank Chris and the team at Versatile, for giving up their time for this good cause.

Why they need our service

Slough falls into the bottom 20% of the most deprived areas in the UK. Slough is a diverse town with many different migrant communities settling in it, where 26% of the children live in or on the edge of poverty. The town also has a high percentage of children having learning disabilities, social, emotional and behavioural additional needs. Services are stretched and the demand on social care means the threshold for the need for intervention being raised. We aim to support these children.

Plan and expected results

We will look at supporting children to access a wide range of play and sport activities across Slough, providing 1.1 care if needed. Giving these children important time to develop as individuals. We wish to make their out of school experience fun and rewarding and to give them an enjoyable but structured environment. We hope that this experience will boost self esteem and self worth, and as a result of this have a positive effect on their personal development and education.
