The village hall is famous, in Lamyatt , Bruton and beyond, for the excellence and creativity of its village events , some are arranged in and around the Hall. Portway Hill hosts the spectacle of children and adults launching painted eggs down the steep tarmac lane to see if any arrive at the hall door! Every June the fete has egg throwing, skittles and sheep races alongside more traditional stalls. The autumn sees families flock in from far and wide for a safe and spectacular fireworks display

It brings people together from all walks of life and all age groups. New people to the village are really enjoying our social events, but we desperately need better facilities like kitchen and loos to attract more regular bookings for new activities in response to peoples ideas.

More activities mean that people can meet each other and enjoy themselves on a regular basis. The hire charges go towards the maintenance, running costs, restoration and improvement of our village hall which is our only meeting place. This is the hub of our village.
