The Blurt Foundation is a charity close to my heart, so a group of us have come together to do the color run and raise some money for them. It is a fantastic charity that I discovered 3 years ago, they help and support people going through struggles with depression and mental health. When I first joined as a volunteer, I was a mentor; the idea was that it gave people going through depression someone to reach out too and talk too, someone who had been through depression themselves so could understand and help support them through the tough times. I suffered for a long time with depression and I still have difficult days and other struggles to deal with now, but I am happy to be able to say I've come through the worst of it. The mentor programme had to be shut down unfortunately as there was a lack of funding. I know from the people I have mentored and from my own experience, that having someone to talk too who can understand how you're feeling and can offer advice or support, can be invaluable. Depression can be extremely lonely and reaching out for support can seem impossible, but this programme allowed us as mentors to do this. I understand we aren't running a marathon here, so I'm not expecting massive donations, but due to injuries I've just been told I'm not supposed to be running at all! I'd just love it if you could find whatever you can to donate to such a great cause, and help get things back up and running...maybe next year the girls will be running for a new pair of knees for me! Thanks so much for your support, Abi & the Lausanne Ladies x
