Lee Lee's Great Heights Challenge

Hello everyone, My name is Leanne and four years ago I escaped from a life of domestic abuse. I was first subjected to abuse as a child and i then had various experiences through my childhood, adolescence and early adulthood. Now though, I am free from it all and spend my time growing,learning and developing myself as a person. I work as a support worker, I study and engage in local activities. My journey hasn't been easy as you may expect. I have issues trusting people because of my experiences and that means I unintentionally push people away sometimes and isolate myself. It's very painful to know you do this but struggle to regulate your emotions when your around people because your head is full of memories that give every reason not to trust people. I have low confidence and low self-esteem. But it grows everyday. The worse thing is that i am coming to the end of my twenties but have a brain that still thinks like a 19-20 year old. Simply because, when i was that age i was not doing the fun things i should have been doing. I wasn't going out meeting people and enjoying life. I was stuck in a very bad situation where i was emotionally abused. But that was then and this is now. Life is hard but i love it and i am well on my way to becoming who i want to be, whilst helping others along the way. My passion is to support people who have gone through what i went through and help them change their lives. Please help me in this cause. On the 2nd of June 2018, I will complete a tandem sky-dive from 15,000ft. On the 16th of June 2018, I will abseil down Hexham Abbey. Both these challenges will be completed despite me having a big fear of heights! 100% of donations will go to Northumberland Domestic Abuse Services.
