I have a rather large birthday coming up and thought instead of any presents you might gift me, I'd raise money for my local autism support group.

Airedale and Wharfedale Autism Resource provide help, support and activities for neurodiverse children and young adults.

When my son Joe was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome at the age of 14, AWARE helped us to understand his differences and how to overcome some of the difficulties his autism posed to us as a family.

With their help Joe has matured into a pleasant self aware and sociable young man and now volunteers with the charity.
