I will be taking part in the Yorkshire Tour event held by Wiggle on the 8th August.
I will be doing the standard route which is 79 miles unless I surpass my target of £300 in which case I will move up to the epic route which would be a fun 103 miles. (Ideally I will raise £299.99).
I have chosen to do this in aid of Sunshine and Smiles which is a local charity in Leeds. They have helped one of my friends and colleagues with care and support.
A little bio of the charity can be found below.
Sunshine and Smiles is a support network for children and young people who have Down Syndrome and their families in Leeds.
The group was set up by parents as there wasn’t a specific support group for families with a child or young person with Down Syndrome in Leeds. They bring Sunshine and Smiles to the lives of families through providing a range of fun and therapeutic activities such as regular groups and trips, support and befriending to parents with a new baby, advice around additional challenges such as heart defects, feeding difficulties and other health issues.
The final donation time for this is the 7th August for me to do the Epic but it will still be open on the 8th.
