I'm hosting the Lifting to Raise event for three reasons:
- Give women the confidence to start weight-training; an activity that has proven to help combat the effects of menopause, including osteoporosis
- Raise awareness of Fair Treatment for Women in Wales (FTWW), the only patient-led charity in Wales dedicated solely to female health equality.
- To raise money to support FTWW with their vital work campaigning for and making change in women's health, including menopause, pregnancy loss and endometriosis.

If the event isn't for you but you want to be part of FTWW's work to stop women's health being under-funded, misunderstood or even ignored, or you'd just like to help me support their much needed support to patients, please consider giving to this fundraiser. Examples of the would you would be supporting are listed below.

Our patient engagement activities include:
  • a very active online support group for those based in / receiving healthcare in Wales;
  • email assistance;
  • online and in-person support group meetings and events;
  • facilitation of focus groups for government, healthcare, and education providers
External engagement activities include:
  • giving patient-focused presentations to a range of agencies, including Welsh Government, NHS Wales, Wales-based education providers;
  • advocating for patients / FTWW members on a number of boards, panels, and groups across the UK;
  • providing education sessions for clinicians;
  • representing the patient / FTWW members’ concerns in written contributions to Welsh Government consultations and similar
  • Co-chairing the #WomensHealthWales coalition, successfully influencing the Welsh Government to develop a Women’s Health Plan for Wales.
Thank you for supporting me and Fair Treatment for Women in Wales.
