Mummy, Lily & Sophie's Swimathon

Lily, Sophie and I are taking part in our first Swimathon with St Petroc's Society at the Dragon Leisure Centre on the 21st October at 5-6pm. Please sponsor us and help us raise funds for St Petroc's Society or show your support through some words of encouragement for the girls! St Petroc's Society is a charity I have turned to many times in the past when seeking support for homeless people in Liskeard where many of you know I work as a frontline police officer. I come across so many people in such desperate situations and it is always so reassuring to know I have this charity to turn to. The Cold Weather Provision is literally a life saver with us able to get people off the streets and into warmth and safety immediately. Homelessness in Cornwall is a bigger problem than many of us realise with Cornwall having the third highest number of rough sleepers in the country. According to official Government figures, there were 99 homeless people in Cornwall last Autumn which has risen from 65 in 2015. St Petroc's is there to support people in such circumstances by providing them with food and bedding, emergency accommodation and access to valuable services and provisions. Lily and Sophie really want to help make a difference so please help their first swimathon be a memorable one. We will be swimming with one other member to make a team of 4 (maybe Daddy if he finishes work in time!) and doing as many lengths in an hour as possible.
