I am running the Sheffield half marathon to raise funds for the Haven House Project, supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse in Sheffield. The following quote gives you an idea of how a mother feels about our support,
'Me and my 6 year old daughter are victims of domestic abuse. Fleeing from home was the hardest thing we have ever done. I was an emotional wreck when I arrived at my new home. My daughter sadly felt my pain and was suffering emotionally too and I couldn't give her the attention she needed. I am very thankful for the children's workers. Their support helped me and my daughter in so many ways. The children's workers have supported my child emotionally too. I deeply appreciate the time and effort they have given to my child and I am grateful for this service which is very important for every child in this situation.'
