I started running last year and have plucked up the courage to take on the Great Eastern Run this October. I am nervous to say the least!
But I know the thought that will see me through the difficult miles (i.e. all of them) will be the thought of raising money for a local cause which makes a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable girls and women in and around Peterborough.
The Peterborough Rape Crisis Centre is a small, largely volunteer-run organisation, which is constantly battling to keep its funding up.
It's a cliche, but really even small donations make a big difference:
£2-£5 can provide writing material for therapy sessions, such as journals to help them make sense of their emotions after an attack
£5-£10 will cover a a month's travel for a survivor to attend their weekly sessions
£10 will cover the cost of one room for a survivor for the month of their couselling sessions.

Thank you so much. See you on the other side. Bring cake and wine.
