We are raising money to support the fit out of a new library and learning space - a three storey building on the Bailey. The building is now finished and was opened in September 2019.

St John's College Durham has been an independent centre for learning for over 100 years. Its mission is to form people to lead and serve both in society and the church. Cranmer Hall trains ordinands for ministry in the Church of England and many serve in communities in the North East. Staff and students are active in volunteering and the College provides employment for over 100 people who live locally. The College is a partner in preserving and giving access to Durham's World Heritage Site.

The new facility provides space for expansion and a modern teaching and learning environment supporting the next generation of scholars. It provides a lecture theatre, seminar room and two floors of library and study space with some 26,000 books accommodating around 200 people.
