UPDATE: I did it! Not the fastest time (2:15:28) but still happy and it was a great day. THANK YOU for all your donations, how amazing and generous. Lx
Hi, I am Lucie and I'm running the Hackney Half on 19th May in support of an amazing charity - KEEN London - that I have been involved with since 2012.
Do check them out! https://www.keenlondon.org/
KEEN London is the only charity in London providing one-to-one support at free sports and activity sessions for children with additional needs or disabilities. Over 100 families across London are members of the KEEN family and we provide over 6,000 hours of supported care to children with disabilities every year. Because KEEN sessions are free, we rely on the generosity of donors and sponsors. And that's why I'm running a half marathon to help with fundraising.
I always have so much fun with our 'athletes' and never regret skipping my weekend lie-ins to get to the sessions. The kids' smiles are so worth it. And if it helps to get more of those, I'll run a half marathon :) Yikes!
If you have any spare change, please help me with this great cause. All donations, no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated!
just watched runners go past, sorry to have missed you... leading from the front, I expect!
Here we are just before the race. Go KEEN London!!!
Good luck Lucie
