I am running the Newport 10k in support of Carers Trust Wales.
- 3 in 5 people will become a carer at some point in their lives- 1 in 7 employees in every organisation are likely to be balancing work with a caring role- Wales has the highest proportion of carers in the UK Carers Trust Wales is the leading national charity committed to improving support, services and recognition for Wales’ 370,000 carers. Working with Network Partners - local services that deliver direct support to carers – Carers Trust Wales reached more than 34,000 carers last year.
Carers Trust Wales works hard to improve the experiences of carers by:
- Recognising and celebrating the essential contributions carers make- Raising awareness of the challenges facing carers and supporting carers to have their voices heard
- Campaigning for better support for carers and the sustainable funding of expert carers services- Developing evidence-based approaches to identifying and supporting carers- Providing direct support to carers through grants and information resources Carers Trust Wales is committed to making sure that all carers receive the recognition and support they deserve.
