Richard and I are getting married on the 21st August 2015 in Birmingham. With that in mind we'd like the money to go towards helping a Charity called the Choir with no name which has a group based in Birmingham.
"Many people who are homeless or marginalised are lonely and isolated. Our weekly choir rehearsals are a safe space where people come together in trust and support each other's endeavours. We help our choir members to start getting their lives back on track, by building their confidence, skills, self-belief and pride. And we believe that the positive nature of our public performances benefits the wider community, by tackling head-on the stigma faced by homeless and vulnerable people."
£6 pays for a choir member's dinner after rehearsal for a whole month (dinner not only provides a hot, healthy meal once a week, but is a time to relax and build friendships with other choir members)
£10 pays for a choir member's travel and food on gig days (we perform on average once a month and for some members, performing is the real highlight of being in the choir)
£150 pays for a guest director to run a workshop with one of our choirs, to expand their musical skills (e.g. gospel, classical, songwriting)
We know that we will have a fun day and want to give others the opportunity to spread that joy through singing.
