Hi I'm Martin and I am the owner of MA Personal training. Bringing healthy living and fitness to Suffolk with home training, Nutrition and Gym sessions based at Fitta Bodies in Bury St Edmunds.
I have done several charity events in the past, the latest being a 200mile challenge last September where I had to hit my 200 mile target by the end of the month. With some grit and determination I managed to pass just over 300 miles. So this time I have decided to step it up a notch. So here is my Challenge!!!!
As of the 1st March I have got 3 months to complete 1000 miles running either on the road (Tracked via Fitbit) or on the treadmill at the gym where I will use and incline of 2-3% to help replicate the road running aspect of the challenge. From competing at GB standard in my youth over 100m and 200m you can imagine that 1000 miles is a vast distance in comparison. Working out at just short of 11 miles per day. But there has been snag already. I have to go for minor surgery in the start of May so this 11 mile target will have to be hit hard well before May to make sure I hit the miles.
I have chosen 2 charities that all support and donations will go to and one of these is the Gatehouse. A dementia care charity who also run a foodbank. I have been fortunate enough to do some volunteer work for the team and I can say hand on heart they are an incredible group of friendly people all with the drive to help others. An amazing charity and well worth all the support for all the amazing work they do. Many volunteers jumping in to get involved for when they do their Christmas dinner as part of their charity work. Amazing.
My second chosen charity is Cancer research. This is a very big charity which I am sure has touched many people both directly and indirectly. It is with their hard work and research going forward to help combat this awful disease that hopefully can eradicate this nasty live threatening concern.
Please, donate anything you can. It all adds up :D
