On Sunday I will be running the Brighton Marathon. This is a huge personal challenge for me and something that I have always wanted to do so I haven’t been pestering for sponsorship until now because a) I wasn’t entirely sure that I could ever run this kind of distance and b) I hadn’t found a small charity that I felt could make a real difference to local people’s lives.
But after almost 4 months of gruelling winter training I am finally marathon ready and only a few days ago I was chatting to a lady I know and she told me that she has been greatly helped by Yorda Adventures, an amazing local charity that supports parents and provides play schemes, after school clubs and adventure holidays for children with severe learning disabilities.
Yorda Adventures is a not-for-profit organisation that works with families in and around the borough of Kingston-upon-Thames. They provide engaging and stimulating play projects and short breaks for children and young people with severe learning disabilities. They rely on donations and grants to continue their great work.
Please spare any donation that you can, it is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
