Hi everyone, my name is Marwa and I have set myself up for a crazy challenge... I will be joining the Hackney half Marathon in May 2020... this means I will be expected to complete 13.1 miles and I'm doing this all for a great cause!
I will be running to raise some money (and raise some awareness on the way too) for a charity that i feel greatly passionate about... its called KEEN and it is the only charity in the London that provides FREE one to one sports activity led sessions for children with additional needs.
I recently started volunteering as a coach at KEEN and found the experience extremely rewarding. I first heard of it when my seven year old non-verbal nephew who has special needs started attending as an athlete in KEEN North. I soon realised how important and beneficial it was for those children to have a safe and non judgemental space to play, socialise and have some fun!
At KEEN children like my nephew get a chance to be themselves in a caring and accepting enviroment. They also get to go on trips and enjoy days out, allowing the children wonderful opportunities to just be children and at the same time giving the parents a much needed break!
What I want from YOU now is to dig deep into your pockets and donate GENEROUSLY and help me reach my target and put a smile on those childrens faces :)
