As many of you know, Maryanne wasn’t just the life and soul of the room, an amazing mum, a fantastic friend, she was also a brilliant Probation Officer and she worked for the service for 13 years. She helped many people during her time, however I know one of the groups of people she felt particularly strongly about was the women she worked with.
She passionately believed in empowering and supporting the women she helped during her time in the women’s cohort and she was an ardent feminist. As such, instead of flowers, and in Maryanne’s honour and memory, we would kindly ask that anyone who would like to make a donation do so to Berkshire Women’s Aid.
BWA (Berkshire Women's Aid) provide life-saving and life-changing support to victims of domestic abuse.
"Last year BWA had to turn away 73 people looking for that place of safety. That means for every victim we took in to refuge we turned 3 people away. Calls to our helpline grew by 58% last year”
