Babbasa is a Bristol-based, award-winning social enterprise that sets out to support young people from under-represented backgrounds with their professional aspirations.
Babbasa believes that although talent is equally distributed throughout the world, opportunities are not. To resolve this, they work with young people, businesses and the community to address inequalities to produce a fairer city.
I've been working with Babbasa as an Equal Opportunities Ambassador since earlier in the year, helping support Babbasa's young people to create a more inclusive society. Since Babbasa started in 2010 they've supported over 3000 young people in Bristol, and my aim with my fundraising it to help them continue to do such fantastic work.
As a snapshot of where the funding goes, here is some information:
£30 pays for Babbasa to find, onboard and refer a young person for mental health support
£300 pays for Babbasa to find and provide a mentor for a young person over 4 to 6 sessions, or provide intensive progression support for 1x young person over 12 weeks
£3,000 pays for Babbasa to find and provide an intensive progression support for 10x young people over 12 weeks
I am mainly doing my fundraising through selling artwork and organising events, but any extra donations would be greatly appreciated! No matter how big or small.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! I hope Babbasa's mission has inspired you as much as it has to me.
