I am raising money for Leeds Tidal, an awesome global justice organisation working to grow and support activism in Leeds.
Over the years Tidal has done loads to help Leeds activists get their message across. Tidal has been instrumental in getting the council to act on climate change and fair trade, campaigned on fuel poverty, debt, tax justice, waste and much more. It runs training events and conferences, supports local community projects and was the driving force behind setting up Leeds activist hub website Leeds for Change.
Most recently Tidal helped hold our politicians to account with the Fair 10 Challenge.
Tidal is a tiny organisation with a big impact in Leeds. Its running costs are miniscule and funded mainly by donations and fundraisers. So it's not in the pocket of any particular interest.
So please help me raise some money for Tidal. The overall goal is £2000 which will help employ the (amazing) coordinator Laura and support volunteers to do global justice action in Leeds. Not asking for loads - if you can spare a couple of quid that would be amazing.
In return I will cycle over 100 miles which is a fair old distance, including Kilburn bank, ranked 56th hardest climb in Britain - a mile of unbroken steepness averaging 16% (1:6), and 25% (1:4) in places. (For reference, The Buttertubs is ranked 49th, Carlton Bank 58th and The Shelf, N Wales, is number 86! Check out cyclinguphill.com/100-climbs)
