My name is Megan Woodall and I am currently studying an Early Years degree and diploma in Bath, Somerset. I became a swimming teacher aged 16 and have wanted to work with children ever since.
I am running the Bath Half Marathon in March for First Steps. First Steps is a wonderful charity set up in 1991 by a group of volunteers, who wanted to address the local childcare needs. The charity have successfully provided three children's centres: Twerton, Moorland's and Weston, who all offer childcare and support for families within the local communities. These centres are designed to give children the best possible start in life, with a focus on disadvantaged families, to help reduce inequalities in child development and school readiness.
The money raised will go towards:
-equipment and trips for all the children First Steps work with
-free meals for young children from qualifying families
-an additional qualified early years practitioner to provide one to one support for young children with additional needs
If you would like to know more about what the charity does and offers then please go to: http://www.firststepsbath.org.uk/
Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
