A new group emerged at Rosehill following the knitting days that were held for Lip Service Theatre’s fantastic show Inspector Norse. This happy group of creatives known as Messel's Makers meet on a regular basis and are now holding a 24 hour (yes you read right!) Knitathon all to raise money for the revelopment of Rosehill and some equally deserving causes!
This will take place from Friday 12 September 3pm right through to Saturday 13 September at 3pm
If you are interested in taking part, whether you are a knitter or sewer, or crochet or felt, whether you are an expert or a beginner, all are welcome to join us at Rosehill as we get creative!
email takingpart@rosehilltheatre.co.uk for more information.
Messel’s Makers are knitting items for these charities. Please support our efforts and help Rosehill at the same time.
Ukraine Orphans
Bassenthwaite Rotary Club have links with a Rotary Club in Uzhgorod, in southern Ukraine. Since 2002 they have been taking hospital equipment and supplies, toys, clothing and educational items to hospitals and orphanages in the area. The need for these items is still great and is likely to increase given the current situation in Ukraine.
Fish and Chip Babies
Every day, babies are born into extreme poverty in Uganda and Kenya , sometimes being wrapped in newspaper because of lack of clothing and blankets. Knitted items are needed to help to give them a better start to life than they would otherwise have had.
The Big Knit
Innocent are working with Age UK to help to keep thousands of older people warm during winter. We can knit hats which they put on their bottles of fruit smoothies during November. For every hat sold, Innocent gives 25p to Age UK and directly helps these older people.
