Mid-Night Youth Cafe ensures young people have time and space set aside for them at a time when most anti- social behaviour (ASB) happens; 8pm to Midnight. By engaging them during this time both Housing Associations and the Police have noticed a real drop in problems with young people thus freeing up their time for more important things. We want to make a difference and therefore are committed to operating at a time that fits the need.

Through a consultation process with the local police, local residents and the young people of King's Lynn, we discussed the key issues faced by the local community. The local police, community support officers and local residents highlighted the growing problem of anti-social behaviour within the community and suggested that providing positive recreational activities and facilities for the young people would reduce the temptation to engage in nuisance and anti-social behaviour.

 Reduce crime and anti-social behaviour both in the short and long term.  Support young people back into education or training and help them stay there, by working with those at risk of exclusion.  Provide access to quality arts, sports and cultural activities, and allow those with an interest and/or talent in any area to excel  Bring together young people from different geographical and ethnic communities to help break down prejudice and misunderstandings.
