The Riff Raff Mob received a funding application from this lovely pair - Not the one in the middle on the photo.
Mikaela is having fairly brutal stage 3 treatment for Breast Cancer. She's had to stop work. Warren works so the benefit help is very low impact. So much so he's had to use all his holidays then take unpaid hols just to accompany his mrs to the hospital.
I must say visiting this pair to hear their story was very humbling and inspirational.
Why? Firstly because Mikaela is really shy so when I was welcomed in by Mr Holden she was hiding upstairs. Warren explained this so I shouted up and threatened to go up and do a one man pile on her.
A minute or so later the most beautiful lady appeared and within just a few moments I could really feel the love and care vibe the two to share.
Mikaela is a special needs carer by trade and really really misses doing that. She's clearly a very giving person. That might be why Warren hasn't been seen in Stretford/Lostock/Urmston for years as he clearly has everything he needs indoors including a top drawer chef (Mikaela) home grown veggies and a Rabbit called Yoda.
Mikaela had delightfully feminine long hair before her treatment as in her words; I never had much in the boobs or bum department so that was my womanly zone. She was very brave and showed me the patchy remains of her hair. she told me they tried to get a Wig fund going but it was gobbled up by the day to day costs of life.
I explained what we are all about:
Alerting your friends, family and the local community that you need a group hug and you need it now - You need a treatment fund
The plan
1. As soon as there is enough dosh on this page (I estimate £200) we'll sort her temporary lady hair for her party
2. We are having a fundraising party The Melville' on January 28th
3. Warren has joined Team Nutbar- The Riff Raff Manchester Marathon team to raise funds for Mikaela's Treatment fund so please sponsor him
