Yes, I am putting the orange shoe laces to good use on Sunday 18 Oct at the Great Birmingham Run (Half marathon) 13.1 miles.
I usually run for fun, not for fundraising, but want to support this special charity that provides help for all sorts of people when things get tough. Glenys Thomas (my mother-in-law) is a long term Trustee and we would be very grateful for your donations.
Martineau Gardens is a vital resource within the centre of Birmingham – it’s close to the city (very near to Egbaston cricket ground) and yet it provides a place where you can go to get a breath of fresh air and forget about the hussle and bustle of life’s demands.
For many of the volunteers who take part in the Therapeutic Horticulture project at Martineau Gardens, gardening is much more than a hobby, in fact gardening at Martineau Gardens gives them a reason not to give up, when the going gets tough. it is a place where vulnerable people feel valued. Please follow the link below for more about the Martineau Gardens.
It costs £250 per day to run the gardens and they rely on donations.
Your support will be gladly received. It will enable the charity to continue to keep these beautiful Gardens protected and free for all to visit and offer the Therapeutic Horticulture programme to those in need.
Thank you, Mike.
